text The Future of the World at Stake Florian Roetzer 2004-11-01 10:54 AM
Every good republican knows the world is solid Kerry territory. A survey by pollsters HI Europe earlier in October found that, if Euroepans had a vote, they would back Kerry over Bush by a 6 to 1 margin. Bush would win just 6% in Germany, 5% in Spain and a measly 4% in France. (text/plain)

audio Raising our Heads at a Historic Monent duko 2004-10-30 2:04 PM
Bob Avakian has been working intensely to wrench something different out of this moment—and to raise the sights of us all to the ways and possibilities of doing that.

In Elections: Democracy and Dictatorship, Resistance and Revolution he really dissects the current situation around the election. He breaks down why Bush is doing what he is doing and why Kerry is doing what he is doing—how they are both "auditioning" for who can be the best commander-in-chief to represent the larger interests of the U.S. monopoly imperialist ruling class; and why being confined by the terms and logic of this election is very dangerous for the people.
<br (audio/mpeg)

text Voting in a Culture of Occupation: An Interview with Derrick Jensen reposted from stlimc.org 2004-10-29 8:32 PM
One of the things that I want to say about this that I haven't yet said is that a two party dictatorship is much smarter than a one party dictatorship. If you really want to control someone, what you do is you give them the illusion of choice. Then they perceive themselves as being free, and there's nobody more enslaved than the slave who doesn't even know that he or she is enslaved. One of the things the Nazis did... (text/plain)

text The GOP is BANKRUPTING America Larry S. Rolirad 2004-10-28 8:56 PM
Every tick of the clock brings our country deeper and deeper in debt. Republicans always seem to find unlimited funds for war, breaking things, and killing people, but not a dime for peace, building things and helping people. (text/plain)

text It's MY Homeland Security Damnit! Larry S. Rolirad 2004-10-28 8:13 PM
The Bush administration is spending $118,729.45 for a family of five on "Homeland Securty", the Patriot Act" and the Iraq war. President Bush said that he "trusted the people, not the government" four years ago. President Bush obviously does not believe that now. He is using government to funnel billions of our hard earned tax dollars to corrupt corporations who receive no-bid contracts directly from the White House. And not a dime of that money is protecting us. We the people should demand that we get that $118,729.45 so we can take measures to protect ourselves and our families. It is obvious that we could do a better job defending ourselves than the government can. (text/plain)

To the Moon
As the moon dips behind the Earth's umbral shadow, as the solar system goes about its daily grind, voting for Kerry seems so shallow, and Bush, a threat to all humankind. (image/jpeg)

text So-Called Mental Illness is Myth Masquerading As Science--new book will rock your world! anti-psychiatric liberation affront! 2004-10-21 8:49 PM
This dialogue between the infamous (yet hardly known) Dr. Szasz and his critics allows him to once again articulate the argument he has presented so brilliantly and passionately for over four decades. . . . A profession that fails to learn from and respect those who confront it with controversial and discomforting ideas loses strength and vibrancy. Hopefully, at least some younger psychiatrists will be encouraged to read this book. They will find that their intellectual and professional lives will be enriched. (text/plain)
