As the State of the Nation Address of the President was heading towards its date, a group of 296 soldiers - 70 junior officers and 226 enlisted men of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)- staged on July 27 the siege of the Oakwood Premier luxury hotel at the Ayala Center, in Makati financial district of Metro Manila.
