text CODDLING OF PALIN IS FALSE FEMINISM, DISGUISED SEXISM, AND RIGHT-WING ANTI-WORKING-WOMEN Ruth Rubinstein 2008-09-10 4:48 AM
The call of so-called feminists to coddle Palin is really disguised sexism and based on a medieval, male-chauvinist mentality that women are weak and fragile and should be protected. We don’t need an American Margaret Thatcher, an icon and poster child for right-wing policies that harm poor and middle-class working women, the majority of women. It’s time to expose Palin for what she really is. (text/plain)

text Pit Bulls and Lipstick Randy Redbull 2008-09-10 3:11 AM
I have to admit that I have never actually seen a pig putting on lipstick. I guess it was because pigs had a hard time holding lipstick in their hooves, and the fact that their species never adapted to the manufacture and sale of mirrors for self-conscious assessment? But a pit bull with lipstick? What are we to think of such a shocking metaphor—that is of a hockey mom equating to a pit bull? Or why do moms continue to where lipstick after getting married anyway? Update: The Criminal Corruption and Animal Cruelty of Gov. Sarah Palin
Perhaps after you read this file, you will feel as my friends and I feel, that Sarah Palin was fasttracked from a mayor's job in a 4600 resident town to the governor's chair, coached in everything she said or did, and prepared to be a neocon candidate on the national stage...all in 2 years time. Vote fraud could have defeated her Democratic opponent. All of this occurred as the neocon dominated FBI was investigating Senator Stevens. Certainly Murkowski defeated governor and Stevens had corrupt offices, but the orchestration of the chorus for Palin by oil prostitutes Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and others was it seems planned. "That most dangerous of all classes: the wealthy criminal class" wrote President Theodore Roosevelt of plutocrats and their pawns. (image/jpeg + 14 comments)

CRASH THE RNC: Sector 4 Barricade Building Contest
Representatives of our corrupt two-party system intend to host self-congratulatory celebrations this summer at the Democratic National Convention in Denver and the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. We support demonstrating opposition to their parties by crashing and shutting them down, while having a little fun ourselves. In alliance with thousands of others nationwide who are collaborating to swarm the RNC on day one, September 1st -- Bay Area, Santa Cruz, and other Northern California radicals have banded together as "Unconventional Action (UA) in the Bay" and collectively chosen to adopt SECTOR 4 in downtown St. Paul. Our commitment to blockades, direct action, and other roaming protest mischief at the RNC is pledged in full solidarity with those working to disrupt the DNC in late August. (image/jpeg)

text What Will It Take to Defeat the War? Internationalist Group 2008-07-17 5:50 PM
On June 28-29, an “Open National Antiwar Conference” was held in Cleveland, called by a newly minted National Assembly to End the Iraq War and Occupation. Over objections from the conference organizers, centrally Socialist Action, the assembly voted to change the name to include reference to the war on Afghanistan, and to emphasize the connection with U.S. backing for the Zionist occupation of Palestine. (The sponsors of the confab were so right-wing that they feared losing “unity” with Democratic Party supporters of Israel and the Afghanistan war!) What did not change at all was the popular-front character of the new outfit, tying it to the bourgeois parties despite the fig leaf of electoral “independence.” Making this utterly clear, it was decided not to call a national antiwar mobilization prior to the November elections explicitly in order to court those forces who wish to aid the Democrats (and therefore want to avoid making problems for the presumptive Democratic nominee, Barack Obama). Here is the leaflet issued by the Internationalist Group at the conference. (text/html)
