Memo to the citizens of Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District: please stay on top of this man's voting record. Let him know, as loudly as possible, when he does something you think is hurting the interests of his district and his country.
And remember: this guy, whether he admits it or not, holds a great deal of personal responsibility for having put American military lives in harm's way over a pack of lies to push this country into a war in Iraq.

Freiheit für Mumia!: German book reveals new evidence
Hans Bennett
2006-11-25 5:12 AM![]()
This is a shorter “reader-friendly” essay review of German author Michael Schiffmann's explosive new book on Mumia Abu-Jamal featured at http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Nov06/Bennett24.htm based on my exclusive reading of the English language version (not yet published in the US) and an extensive interview, which is the only public English language resource that documents the many new facts and original ballistics analysis presented in the German book. This version features several accompanying graphics.

Mumia's Best (and Last) Chance for a New Trial: A Legal Update
Hans Bennett
2006-11-24 1:28 AM
On October 23, attorney Robert R. Bryan (attorney for death-row prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal) filed the 4th Step Reply Brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Philadelphia. Because this should be the last round of reply briefs, Bryan estimates that the public hearing of arguments should begin within three months. After the hearing, the panel of judges will then decide whether to grant Abu-Jamal a new trial. (text/plain)

Benjamin H. Latrobe’s Pennsylvania-German Family Connections

On Nov. 4, 2006, a ceremony was held to mark the reopening of the R.C. Basilica in Baltimore. It was designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe, who it was noted emigrated from England, “in 1795.” Latrobe’s Pennsylvania German connections were omitted, however. His mother was born in PA, and his maternal grandfather, John Henry Antes, a German emigrant, was a builder in his own right. Three of Latrobe’s uncles were Revolutionary War patriots. (image/jpeg)
