On November 16, 40 bus and trolley riders from southwest Pennsylvania gathered for a lunchtime “Public Transportation Appreciation Rally” at the Pennsylvania State Office Building downtown. Public transit riders expressed their appreciation for the system that they rely on, and how it affects their everyday lives, sending the message to Harrisburg that public transportation is a necessity, not an option, for thousands of people everyday. Speakers at the rally also called for just wages and health care benefits for every public transit worker in Pennsylvania. (image/jpeg)

Lycos began as a search engine at Carnegie Mellon and paradoxically its ragingbull.com that provides message boards that censor or delete critics or defrauded investors from posting and allow known penny stock frauds to continue and insiders to the scams to promote known penny stocks frauds is itself like a dark alley of the internet where search engines don't go.

On Wednesday, October 26, the day after the 2000th U.S. soldier was killed, a candlelit silent vigil and march through Oakland was held by members of the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), the Women’s League For Peace and Freedom (WILPF), and Code Pink. Over 100 people gathered at the Friends Meeting House at 5:30. The Raging Grannies sang and Diane Santoriello spoke. She is a Penn Hills resident who’s son, Neil, died while serving in Iraq. The march ended in Oakland at the Dinosaur in front of Carnegie Library. Organizers read the names of the dead in closing. (image/jpeg)

Wednesday, October 26 -- Marking a grim milestone in the Iraq war - the 2,000th U.S. fatality - Pittsburgh Organizing Group (POG) held an emergency counter-recruitment rally and march in Oakland. About 130 showed up for the 7pm rally that began with a drum circle. The rally featured speakers from POG, CodePink, Anti-Racist Action, and spoken word artist Jeremy Shenk. After the rally, POG led a raucous march through Oakland past two recruiting stations, periodically blocking traffic at intersections, before finally concluding at Carnegie Military University while chanting, "Military Research Kills, Disarm CMU!".
