Cardinal Rigali Wrong to Boost Warmonger Bush
William Hughes
2004-10-25 7:49 PM![]()
On Oct. 3, 2004, Philadelphia’s Cardinal Justin Rigali promoted in a homily, the presidential candidacy of the supposedly pro-life George Bush. Besides the fact that the IRS Tax Code proscribes the clergy from sticking their noses into politics, it is truly ironic that a raving warmonger, like Bush, can be considered pro life. Close to 15,377 civilians and 1,104 U.S. soldiers have died in the Iraqi War. Why isn’t Rigali concerned about that moral issue? (image/jpeg)

Kerry unleash such venom? Because it was posted on a number of right-wing websites in a provocative manner, designed to produce anger. (text/plain)

A Response to the "Kerry in Swing State" Petition Signers
Sam Husseini
2004-10-23 12:13 PM
Many of the individuals who gave a blanket endorsement to Nader in the 2000 election have signed a petition urging "support for Kerry/Edwards in all swing states, even while we strongly disagree with Kerry's policies on Iraq and other issues." Many warned at the time that some sort of "strategic voting" would be needed in 2000. Clearly, in states which Bush or Kerry have basically stated they will lose -- so-called "non-swing states" -- voting for whoever you want is a no-brainer. ...But if you vote for Kerry -- and bypass Vote Pact as well as "safe state" strategies -- then please don't "hold your nose." Have the simple decency to breath it in. Breath it all in. Kerry's lies, his nauseating hypocrisies. Breath in the reeking Iraqi blood, inhale the rotting corpses; suck in the stench of lies, the posturing; the sickness of the symbiotic relationship he has with Bush. Only then can one possibly discern a sliver of truth or exercise a measure of freedom. (text/html)

Kerry Rally disrupts CMU campus

The Kerry/Edwards campaign decided to make a stop on CMU's campus while classes were in full swing. The rally had extensive fencing to block people out of the main area, creating problems for students trying to get to classes. Further, of the people trying to attend the rally itself, most were unable to get into the main area. (image/jpeg)
Anarchists around the country are voting for Kerry and against war
Chris Crass
2004-10-20 8:31 PM
While there are many anarchists who maintain the traditional line of refusing to vote arguing that voting both legitimizes and strengthens the state - there is a growing number of anarchists who are voting and engaging in electoral politics on local, state and national levels. Right now there are anarchists around the country working in swing states and preparing to get out the vote in an effort to defeat the neocon agenda and send a message to the world that the people of the US do not support the policies of the Bush Administration. This is a sample of recent essays from long-time anarchists Utah Phillips and Starhawk as well as two recent essays that I wrote. Starhawk and I are both strongly encouraging anarchists and left/radicals around the country to either decide to vote and vote Kerry or change their vote from Nader and vote Kerry. In swing states, the race is so close that 200-500 anarchists and radicals voting or changing their votes from Nader to Kerry could change history.
