text Tom Hayden on How the Peace Movement Can Win in 2008 Repost by CarlD 2007-12-04 1:52 PM
Note from Carl Davidson: A good discussion piece on the tactics of independent intervention. The Northern IL group Tom mentions is the Peace and Justice Voters project of Chicagoan Against War & Injustice, which train 1000 deputy registrars and register 20,000 new voters, including 5000 high school students in 2004, and in 2006 put the war on the ballot in Chicago, getting 800,000 votes for 'Out Now'--81 to 19 percent--all without endorsing any candidate or party. All the lists and training benefited local neighborhood peace and justice groups, building them, not the Democrats. . (text/plain)

Seldom has trade-union unity been so great in the country: almost all the trade unions, including the most collaborationist, call for an indefinite strike at the SNCF, because of the determination and combativeness of the workers! Today what is the objective of this trade-union unity? Total withdrawal of the new attack against the pensions? (text/plain)
