Free Speech Victory! Permits Secured for Pentagon Demonstration
The last thing that Bush and the Pentagon high command want is a mass march on the Pentagon on the 40th anniversary of the historic 1967 March on the Pentagon. The powerful symbolism of a March on the Pentagon is something that the war-makers fear and want to divert. (image/jpeg)

text The irish down-under jimtravers 2007-02-08 3:56 PM
Can we ignore the signals that are as relevant in Ireland as anywhere else. As two countries enter the EU in 2007 are we nuturing the seeds of racial tension by opening our borders to people who wish to import their ways and culture into our society. Are we ignoring the threat of Islamic terrorism by endeavouring to be politically correct when dealing with asylum seekers, refugees and others entering this country. Is it time for change and a time to take stock of the ways in which we allow people freely enter this country? (text/plain)

text SIGN THE PETITION NOW! Paul King 2007-02-02 7:52 PM
FILMMAKERS & AUDIENCES: PETITION THE MPAA FOR BETTER RATINGS! The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), a trade association, defines itself "as the voice and advocate of the American motion picture industry." But its rating system for films impacts much more than the industry. MPAA ratings affect a film's distribution and thus its financial success; this, in turn, limits what kinds of movies get made and what people get to see at the local movie theater. The rating system was designed to provide information to parents and movie-goers, but it too often results in arbitrary, inconsistent, and unreasonable decisions, which chill filmmakers' creative freedom and keep films away from audiences.
