Ideas to Increase Size of Protest
by pr0t3s7 Monday, Mar. 10, 2003 at 1:42 AM

There is a simple way to significantly increase the size of next sunday's pr0test

I'm sure that everyone is already aware of this obvious concept, but if we each bring at least one person who would not otherwise attend the pr0test, our presence will be doubled. Think about it, all you have to do is bring one (or more) of your non-activist "i don't like this war but i've never thought to pr0test" friends with you to sunday's event. I know it doesn't seem like much, but if everyone tries to bring someone who shows a mild amount of interest, our efforts will be much more effective. Please, everyone, try to bring people who oppose the war but might not normally attend pr0tests, as your cooperation will be GREATLY appreciated.
Also, it will be extremely helpful if everyone who is not in a position in which they TRULY cannot risk state repression would participate in the unpermitted portions of dem0nstrations. The greater our numbers on the street, the more difficult it is for police to exercise their corrupted jurisdiction over activists. For instance, remaining in the street on Saturday, January 25 would have been SIGNIFICANTLY easier if more people left the sidewalks and joined us. Not as many of us would have been slammed into parked cars by police horses had we seen greater solidarity in the face of repression (note: this is by no means an attempt to insult those individuals who did not take to the streets, it is merely a plea for more people to assist us during future actions). If our numbers are large enough in unpermitted portions of pr0tests, it is unlikely that there will be a significant amount of arrests (as long as people look out for each other like they did last Sunday).

please take these things into consideration so that we may construct an effective opposition to the truculent actions of the state.

peace, one l0v3, and @
