Reconvergence: march photos

The march route from Market Square was East on Forbes Avenue, North on Grant Street to the Federal Building, a left on Liberty Avenue, then a Left on Delray before turning back onto Forbes Avenue and returning to Market Square. Marchers were in high spirits due to the sunny day and warm temperatures. The march lasted about 30 minutes altogether.

Tim Vining speaks with a representative of the police force to go over last-minute details about the march route and police assistance in blocking the road. Final permitted status for the march was not given until almost 5 pm on Friday, although the Thomas Merton Center worked closely with the police from the start.

The police kept traffic ahead of the march clear for about a block, but otherwise did not interfere with the march at all.

Some people seemed to be a little confused. People marching...on the streets? On a Saturday afternoon? Downtown?

And the march ended up back at Market Square at around 4:00, where many stopped to listen to the remaining speakers and music. A lot of people left however, since the day was quite long by this time.
