What is essential to the democratic and ethical status of a country is not that it is "Wealthy" and "Powerful", but the process by which it is attained. The people (not all), of the United States enjoy a high standard of living at the expense of its neighbors to the south. This is a result of a distorted self-perception of "manifest destiny", American expansionism, support of dictators, and
in-equable trade practices.
